About The Client

Based in Abu Dhabi, the client cultivates, produces, and trades high-quality animal feed and human food commodities such as rice, flour, fruits, and vegetables. The company is a multinational leader in agribusiness.

Business Need

The client added a new animal feed business to their existing business. They wanted to upgrade their existing website to include the new business and make the following changes:

  • Align the UX and UI of the website to the new animal feed business.
  • Focus on mobility to enable non-tech users like farmers to use the website and app easily.
  • Improve the delivery scheduling process by providing better visibility to the pick and pack teams.
  • Improve the overall order processing and delivery process.

The client decided to leverage their existing SAP eCommerce site for the grocery business to build a new site for the animal feed business.

As SAP consultants and integrators, we have built several high-performance SAP Commerce websites for B2B and B2C companies across different industries. Since our team of experts has demonstrated their proficiency in managing complete SAP Commerce implementation and migration, the client chose to onboard us for this project.

Solution

After thoroughly understanding the client's requirements and doing a roadmap assessment, we implemented the following solutions for our client:

  • Integrated SAP Commerce with SAP ERP backend: We used the existing platform of the client’s grocery business to build a new site for their animal feed business.
  • Integration of payment and delivery: We further integrated the platform with the client's SAP ERP backend, payment gateways, and delivery options. This allowed the end customers to choose their preferred payment and delivery options without hassle.
  • Changed the UX/UI: We changed the UX/UI of the website to align it with the new animal feed business processes and make it more user-friendly for the customers.
  • Developed mobile app: We developed an iOS and Android mobile app replete with all features like payment method and guest checkout, allowing customers to place orders quickly. We focused on mobility and included support and features in the Arabic language. This encouraged non-tech-savvy customers like farmers to use the app.
  • Implemented best practices: We integrated the website and app with pricing and stock modules to provide seamless information to customers. We also implemented the best practices of SAP Commerce to optimize the website's performance and security and help the client keep pace with the fast-paced eCommerce industry.
  • Other improvements: We continuously improved the customer-facing application to enhance its performance and usability and further enhanced the performance of the pick and pack application.

While working with strict timelines and budget constraints, our team built the best solutioning architecture for the client. And we didn't stop there. We offered annual maintenance support (AMS) and provided value-added enhancements to improve the client's website performance and enable them to meet the demands of their customers.

Impact

Here are a few changes the client witnessed after we built a solution for a new product line:

  • Streamlined processes: SAP Commerce provided the client with better visibility into their order status. It also enabled them to align their processes with the new business.
  • Easy order placement: The user-friendly UX/UI, responsive mobile app, and flexibility in payments and delivery enabled the customers to place orders with just a few clicks.
  • Improved planning: The integration with stocks and pricing enabled the pick and pack teams to improve the delivery schedule. SAP Commerce also provided them with an overview of possible orders, delivery dates, and time, enabling them to plan for a whole day, week, and month.
  • Faster response to customer needs: The alignment with new processes and functionalities and a revamped UI/UX has significantly reduced the time and effort required to respond to customer needs. Additionally, the reusable objects, flexible payments, and delivery options made the website more responsive and adaptable to changing market conditions.
  • More efficiency: It streamlined the order processing and provided an end-to-end visibility around order tracking across multiple devices like mobile and web.
