SAP Greenfield S/4 HANA implementation and AMS at Automotive Component Manufacturing Company in Pune, India

The challenge :

A large auto component manufacturing company based in Pune, India, required an ERP system that could help to reduce costs, reduce order lead times as well as manufacturing leads times. They wanted to improve gross margins by improving the efficiency of business processes across procurement, inventory, sales, marketing, distribution, finance, costing, accounting, quality management, and production operations.

Sapours not only delivered a greenfield S/4 Hana implementation, but also followed it up with post-implementation custom support model, involving off-shore support with optimized on-site support as needed.

The objectives :

  • Deliver a best-practices based greenfield S/4 HANA Implementation
  • Render application support for SAP S/4 HANA system during India business hours using ITSM application tool for operational efficiency (manage incidents, service requests, and change requests)
  • Provide on-call support to above applications during off-business hours

The Solution

  • S/4 Hana implementation of the following modules was undertaken in a phased approach: SAP FICO, SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP PP, SAP QM, SAP DMS, and COPA
  • Best practices of ECM, BOM, and product costing process were implemented which had not been followed till then
  • Process improvements across different business functions were identified, suggested, and implemented with proposed automation of significant 10% of the business processes
  • The company’s phase 2 implementation activities were also supported e.g., an ad-hoc support model was deployed in which SAP functional requests were addressed along with dedicated SAP BASIS support
  • Ensured quality and consistency in service levels in compliance to SLA, managing stakeholders and internal and external teams using Sapours’ proven governance model
